Countdown Moments is a calm place to keep track of the days to something you are looking forward to, or the days since something you want to remember. The moments you create stay on your device; the only thing that reaches the internet is a single ad at the bottom of the screen. This policy explains what that means in practice.
What Countdown Moments stores
The moments you create, including their titles, target dates, style choices, and the date each one was added, are saved in a database on your device. Countdown Moments has no account and no sign-in, and it does not ask for or store your name, email address, location, or any other personal information.
Photos you choose
If you set one of your own photos as a background, Countdown Moments asks permission to open your photo library. The photo you pick is cropped, reduced to a small image, and copied into private storage inside the app so it can appear on your moment and on any home screen widget you add. While a moment is using a photo you picked, that photo is kept in the app so you can reuse it on other moments without choosing it again. Your photos are never uploaded and never shared.
Ads
Countdown Moments shows one small ad at the bottom of the moments list and the moment detail screen, served by Google. The ad is contextual only, not based on a profile of you, the app does not use an advertising identifier, and it does not track you across other apps. To fill the ad, Google receives basic device and network information. Showing an ad needs an internet connection; with no connection, no ad appears and nothing else changes. In the EU and the UK, Google shows you its own consent form the first time you open the app, and no ad is requested until you have answered it.
Nothing else leaves your device
Apart from the ad above, Countdown Moments has no analytics, no crash reporting, and no tracking of any kind. The moments, dates, photos, and style choices you create are never transmitted anywhere.
Home screen widgets
A widget reads from the same on-device database to show a moment on your home screen. Its day count refreshes whenever you open the app, and every few hours in between. This information stays on your device, the same as everything else in the app.
Deleting your information
Deleting a moment removes it, any widgets connected to it, and any photo you added to it that no other moment is still using. Uninstalling the app removes everything, since nothing is kept anywhere else.
